The Opportunity

Highnote is looking for a dynamic Senior Technical Writer to help own and shape our API documentation and support guides experiences. This person has strong technical writing skills to build accurate and user-friendly API documentation. You will play a critical role in helping drive developer adoption of Highnote’s API and future developer-facing products. You will work closely with our customers and partner with Highnote’s Product Design and Product Management teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create and maintain high-quality API Documentation and Support Guides, including reference guides, developer guides, and tutorials
  • Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to develop accurate and user-friendly API documentation and Support Guides
  • Organize and structure the Highnote API Documentation and Support Guides
  • Keep the API documentation up-to-date with the latest API releases, changes, and improvements
  • Evaluate API design and provide feedback to improve the clarity, consistency, and usability of API interfaces
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Highnote product ecosystem and expert knowledge of the product and customers you support.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on API documentation
  • Experience writing effective technical content for a developer audience
  • Experience working with a content management system (Hygraph, Contentful)
  • Sharp writing skills, and ability to accept and provide editorial feedback
  • Strong understanding of APIs, GraphQL, and programming concepts
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that grants you a lot of autonomy to explore creative solutions and guide the product vision

  • At Highnote we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our compensation packages are competitive based on robust market research and are a combination of a cash salary, equity, and benefits. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual salary range for applicants is $125,000-$175,000.

Please note that positions located in San Francisco are hybrid and include core working days of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office. We provide flexible work options based on distance from our downtown SF office. Highnote believes in the power of face-to-face, personal connection. As a result, we prioritize in-person candidates.
