Position Overview: As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be an integral part of the Electric Operations team, responsible for creating clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation. This role will play a critical function in ensuring that vital information is effectively communicated across the organization, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of electrical operations.
This will be a 1-year contract. Remote work. Only candidates in CA, WA, and TX will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical information
- Create and edit technical documents, including manuals, procedures, specifications, how-to’s, playbooks, diagrams, FAQs, etc
- Organize and present complex information in a clear and understandable manner
- Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and regulatory requirements
- Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in processes or technology
- Oversee and manage the company intranet, ensuring it remains an effective and up-to-date resource for employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field
- 5+ years of proven experience in technical writing
- Experience working within electric operations at a utility is required
- Strong proficiency in document formatting and editing software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy
