Content Designer

Payrate: $29.00 – $29.52/hr.

Summary: A Content Designer I is an early-career practitioner who supports product teams by creating clear, consistent, and user-centered content within established patterns and guidance. They focus on execution, learning core content-design skills, and delivering high‑quality work on scoped problems.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit UI content (buttons, labels, helper text, error messages, empty states) using existing voice and tone guidelines
• Execute content updates for small to medium product features with clear direction
• Apply existing content patterns and design system components accurately
• Partner with product designers and engineers to implement content correctly
• Participate in critiques and incorporate feedback into revisions
• Conduct basic content quality checks (clarity, consistency, accessibility)
• Document content decisions and note open questions or risks

Scope & Ownership

• Works on well-defined problems
• Owns content for individual screens, flows, or feature areas
• Decisions are guided by senior designers or design leads
• Limited strategic ownership; focuses on delivery and craft

Collaboration

• Works closely with product designers (day‑to‑day)
• Collaborates with engineers for implementation details
• Receives direction and feedback from content or design lead
• Usually embedded on one team rather than multiple workstreams

• Content is clear, correct, and on‑brand
• Few revisions needed after review
• Meets project deadlines reliably
• Shows growth in UX thinking and independence over time

Desired Skills:

• Strong writing fundamentals (clarity, grammar, concision)
• Basic understanding of UX and product design principles
• Familiarity with design systems, content guidelines, and accessibility basics (plain language, error prevention)
• Comfortable using design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, docs, tickets)
• Open to critique and able to iterate quickly

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $29.00 – $29.52/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
