POSITION SUMMARY:

AT $40-$45/HOUR FOR 8 HOURS/DAY.

***API TECHNICAL WRITER & MARKETING CONTENT WRITER***

The Marketing organization is looking for an analytical and precise self-starter who has a deep understanding about what developers need to build software and how to provide them the documentation that helps them plan and execute a successful integration.

In this role as API Technical Writer you will create technical documentation for the company’s customer-facing API platform, working closely with Product, Engineering, and UX, to craft content for external developers. You will gain a deep understanding of the company’s API assets and the industries we serve to create documents aligned to each step of the development journey.

This role will also serve a dual function and will assist the marketing team in creating emails & blogs that are more technical in nature. The candidate should be comfortable in creating content with the goal to sell.

This is an ideal role for someone who has a background in software development and who enjoys communicating and collaborating with a technical audience.

This position is a remote, work-from-home position and requires a stable internet connection. However, if located in Bellevue, WA or Rochester, NY, an office location is provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create use cases that help external developers discover the art of the possible with EagleView data.

Generate code samples to demonstrate how to achieve common use cases.

Provide thorough descriptions of how an API works and recommendations on how to implement it.

Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to provide feedback on potential improvements to API resources.

Manage the organization of technical documents to best follow the developer journey from discovery to planning to execution.

Reinforce the company’s brand and value propositions while maintaining a direct and friendly style of writing.

Manage review cycles to identify when documentation is out of date and make updates.

Standardize documentation format and organization.

Write SEO focused blogs for different departments within the organization, including: Roofing, Construction, Solar, Imagery, Government.

Write occasional email and social media content for different departments within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Programming or Software Development, or a degree in fields with extensive focus on technical writing

· The successful candidate will have 3+ years of technical writing experience in software and/or technology.

· Proven track record of writing clear and useful technical documentation.

· Proven communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

· Strong self-management skills.

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

· Excellent English written communication skills.
