Title: Technical Writer

Contract: W2, 06-months

Location: Remote

Pay Range: $60-65/Hour DOE

The largest computer software vendor is seeking a Technical Writer/Sociotechnical Linguist to join their Search Assistant and intelligence-responsible AI Science team. The primary objective of this role is to identify, measure, and mitigate Responsible AI (RAI) issues in enterprise products powered by generative AI technology. This team works closely with Research and product teams to develop content and product policy guidelines for assessing risks in generative AI. As a contributor, the individual will conduct deep dives in partnership with feature teams and develop measurement artifacts, methods, and tools for identifying and mitigating RAI harms. Expertise in linguistics and social sciences will be used to identify patterns in content harms and create resources applicable across different language technologies.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Research and product teams to identify, measure, and mitigate Responsible AI issues in enterprise products powered by generative AI technology.

Develop content and product policy guidelines for measuring risks in generative AI.

Conduct deep dives with teams to identify patterns in RAI issues.

Create measurement artifacts, methods, and tools to assess and mitigate Responsible AI harms.

Apply expertise in linguistics and social sciences to develop practices and resources for mitigating RAI harms in various contexts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in linguistics or a related social science field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).

Experience working on Responsible AI assessment of Generative AI powered systems.

Experience creating documentation for a technical audience.

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required:

Minimum 1+ years of experience with interacting with generative AI, AI Safety, or Responsible AI.

Minimum 3+ years of experience with content design.

Minimum 3+ years of experience with Excel.

Performance Indicators:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Quality of work produced.

Candidate Requirements:

5-7 years of overall experience in the field.

Candidates should not be fresh out of college, have no large industry experience, lack familiarity with data analysis, or lack interpersonal skills.

Must be detail-oriented and possess technical writing skills.

Candidates with significant job-hopping experience will not be considered.
